as development tool of high level application. With the help of Visual Basic technology extended human-computer interface can be developed easily. VB data environment can be widely used in tendency display, alarm/incident display, dynamic map, dynamic data and dynamic sign. There are many ways, such as OPC, DDE, ODBC, OLEDB and SQL, via which interconnection between different systems can be realized. It also supports time stamp.
The server SCADA system adopt redundant and hierarchy structure, which makes main server becomes field-server’s redundant equipment and vice versa. It supports multi communication protocol and multi path control devices, can perform data interchange

SCADA Vantage main computer receive real-time data created by field equipment, save them as history data via an interface. The two factors that we concern about database is data collection cycle and storage volume. Both real-time data and history data can be reproduced through tendency diagram. Data is saved in the form of database. Database adopt client/server distributed and open framework.

SCADA Vantage display unanswered alarm list on the lower right corner of a standard screen. SCADA system also adopts main screen map display method. You can open a picture
by press a page button in which alarm message collection is included. SCADA Vantage
will arrange the order of alarm message per priority and time sequencing. When alarm
occurs to one of the alarm collection, the relevant light among the alarm collection will flash until it has been responded. When there is alarm being neglected, an aural signal may be produced by SCADA Vantage to warn the operator. The selection of sound style will depend on your company’s preference. Response to any alarm can be done by placing the cursor on the alarm point and double click mouse. You can rearrange the order of alarms within the alarm collection by click the item within the title bar.
Collection of operator alarm
Operator alarm is a type of single or repeated alarm that can be set by operator. This
type of alarm can contain information defined by customer. Operator alarm is similar to an alarm clock, which means alarm appears in special time span and with special information. You can open a picture relating to this type of alarm by click relevant command button.
Click “ ”button to increase new operator alarm. New operator alarm dialog box will appear in front of you, as shown below:
Enter operator alarm title and click button, a new page relating to features and configuration of operator alarm will appear, as shown below:
You can also open this page by clicking relevant alarm in operator alarm sheet. In this page, you can obtain information such as description on operator alarm, comments, schedule type and re-schedule type. Activation of alignment of activity means daily starting time
for an alarm assigned to a designated activity. Activation interval is effective only when
timing style is defined as Interval or Interval offset. Activation interval is defined as the time span from activation of an alarm to alarm signal being sent out by the alarm device. Operator alarm feature is used for defining alarm zone and priority. Operator alarm zone and priority can be determined by clicking one of options appeared on the screen. Operator alarm information is described as displayed information when an alarm really occurs.
Features of tendency chart
Although all real-time system and SCADA system boast tendency chart function, SCADA Vantage system has obvious advantage over other systems.
Trend diagram basing on real-time data can be saved, whatever ways used by you to visit it.
The automatic online archiving and reappearing function for blocks of tendency chart

1.1.6 Application management system for customer station(CAM)
This software is responsible for the management of client station upgrading.
When the client stations of SCADA Vantage system are connected with server, CAM
Will check software of each client to identify whether it is the newest version.
It will perform automatic upgrading in case that the software is not the newest version.
In case that software upgrading is needed for client, CAM can download necessary component to client station and perform upgrading. Allowing system administrator save new software inside CAM and automatic upgrading client station make software upgrading easier. At the same time, problems stemmed from upgrading can be reduced.

Single computer system is mainly applied in middle and small system. Short time rest is allowed for this type of system.
Redundant system with warm standby function is applied in main control center where
operating condition is very strict. Rest is not allowed for system in main control center.
Hierarchy server is applied where database is located at different fields, so as to minimize influence stemmed from out of service of computer. But there must be
a real-time host database for use of inquiry and visit. The upgrading of host database
is done via field database.
Point to point server is used for off-line warm backup. Compared with host server, off-line server is placed at different place or places far away and frequency of data refreshing is very low. Once system at main control center is taken out of service
by catastrophe, off-line backup system will take over
Real-time database and history database can be visited by table.
Human Machine Interface(HMI)
IndustrialIT SCADAVantage is applied as HMI monitoring software and used by SCADA system. It is used for equipment control, monitoring process data, display of data/state/alarm, recording of alarm/incident, production of report form, and so on.
Operator station receives data from SCADA system server without interrupt and presents them to local HMI to finish command and data input at local station level. With it you can provide local station CRT with graph and form and obtain data, alarm message
,record, graph, real-time tendency line, history tendency line as well as history data.
The application of history tendency can provide each recorded variable with selectable sample cycle, dead zone and time cycle.

The picture style provided by IndustrialIT SCADAVantage include:
Provide local SCS with operation interface. Provide each unit in local station with
graph or table display function. With a series of graph and table display, as well as printed incident record and report, the operator can secure status messages on station and unit in the station through color(CRT display) and value.
Picture selection is done through menu selection, and with one touch you can switch from one picture to another one. The initial picture will display panorama of station and field, including main equipment and buildings. Each picture at lower level will
display a smaller area of the field and provide more detailed process information compared with that contained in the last one.
With the aid of keyboard and mouse, operator can modify operation parameter of a station, turn off one pump unit, switch on/off valves, change set-point for a station, change alarm threshold value and change station operation mode.
There is dynamic zone in the picture that is reserved for inputting data and command.
Operator can input relevant data and command in this zone to change system parameter, turn on/turn off pump unit and change operation mode. When a new picture is selected,
the way for data entry is not selected automatically. At first, place cursor at place where data to be entered (by the time, the zone will be lightened). Then, you can input desired data or select command or data from dialog box. At last, you can click
acceptbutton in the picture ( or press return key) to receive new data or command.
In case that what is inputted has not been accepted in designated time, the command or data will be restored. It can accept various data, including transfinite testing data and preference upgrading data. System will not accept new data or command until
Return key or accept button is pressed. Data or command inputted can be edited before being accepted. At the same time, any inputted data or command will be saved in alarm/incident printer and which is displayed in alarm/incident collection picture.

Description on control system configuration
1) system configuration in central control room
Equipment equipped in the central control room includes: a set of redundant SCADA system server, a set of WEB server, a set of MIS server, an engineer station and 4 operator stations, each of them is also equipped with SCADA system database software, engineer software/operator software and interface software for management of plant network.
Configuration for systems in instrument cabinet room and instrument cabinet room in control center.
Equipment equipped in cabinet room of control center includes: a pair of redundant AC800M PM861 controller used in DCS control station, a few S800 I/O card used in local and distant I/O station.
The equipment equipped in instrument cabinet room includes two pairs of redundant AC800M PM861 controller used in DCS control station, a few S800 I/O card used in local and distant I/O station, a operator station (also used as engineer station)
AC800M controller
Characteristic for controller provided by Beijing Master Automatic Control Engineering Co., Ltd:
Controller: including CPU, communication module, power module and various accessories. There are a number of types of controller module available for selection, which is different from each other in terms of process capapacity, size of memory and redundant supporting.
Each controller module is equipped with two Ethernet ports, which is used for communication with other controllers, and interactive with operator, engineers and managers. For situation where the top priority is reliability it is recommended that these two ports can be equipped as redundant ports.
In addition, RS-232C port should be involved to perform point to point communication between CPU and programming/debugging tool, the third side system and equipment.
Actual parameter for AC800M controller which is used in this project:
CPU: 32 bits processor, with 133MHz/48MHz as clock frequency.
RAM: 16/32/64MB (SD-RAM), with standby battery, which is used for program storage, can be equipped with 8MB flash card.
Supporting following interfaces:
Ethernet port:2, Ethernet (IEE 802.3) communication interface with 100M/s as transmission rate, RJ-45 interface, supporting redundant configuration.
RS232C interface: 2
Switching time for redundant controller: maximum: 10ms,3-7ms in general

Clock synchronization time: according to CNCP agreement, synchronization time between controllers is 1ms.

TCP/IP can be applied for communication between AC800 controllers of different systems.
One controller can be connected with 8 S800IO stations, each of which can have 12 I/O modules. The total I/O modules amount to 96.
If connected with ProfibusDP/DPV1, one controller can be connected with 79 stations at the most, each station can have 24 I/O modules, the total modules amount to 79x24
